The risk of artificial sweeteners is being reconsidered as a serious poison, such as margarine
is. Aspartame is one of the most commonly
used sweetener substitute in a myriad of products such as in most diet sodas, processed foods and candies. This product has appeared as an ‘alternative’ to sugar which is wrongly plagued by
a negative reputation.
Firstly, it is important to remember that sugar is important to our body since it is storage for energy which can be used by our cells and
muscles.
Aspartame is marketed not by its real name, but through products like Equal and
NutraSweet. This is because aspartame itself has the reputation of being a dangerous excitotoxin. An excitotoxin is
defined as a product having the ability to ‘excite’ the body cells into overproducing a particular chemical, thus burning them out prematurely. Aspartame has been recognized to affect and trick
brain cells, by mimicking the response to sweetness of sugar and producing an artificial form of it.
In tests, one study actually reports that 67% of female rats exposed to
aspartame developed tumors roughly the size of golf balls or
even larger.
When aspartame-sweetened products are consumed, its effect can translate into a number of neurological symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, vision problems, and anxiety.
These will continue to manifest until the user eliminates it from their diet completely. However, if aspartame usage is continued, a physical addiction to the substance occurs. In surveys,
several persons reported knowing at least one person who could not seem to stop their addiction to diet drinks, and when they try to quit, they end up with a number of these symptoms. Aspartame
is considered addictive, and a chemical dependency begins to form when aspartame is consumed regularly, and is hard
to break, making it a psychotrop (in other words: a drug).
Due to the aspartame neurological effects, its continued ingestion can be lead to many forms of neurological diseases. Moreover, aspartame has been
identified as a prominent cause for certain forms of brain cancer as well.
It is also interesting to note that aspartame is also created using some Monsanto’s genetically modified bacteria, raising further cause for alarm.
This company has already found guilty of endangering the life of Americans with dangerous chemical on many occasions. They are also famous with many corruption attempts of US officials in order
to get utilization and distribition authorizations.
But who is most at risk for unknowingly consuming aspartame?
Older people, fat people and diabetics are more likely to consume aspartame due to their desire to replace sugar with a ‘healthy’ alternative. Inded, serious analysis of
aspartame allows to determine that is far from a healthy alternative. Its
effects can easily accelerate or compound health concerns that these individuals may already have. Similarly, children are more likely to
consume aspartame due to its prominent usage in all forms of candy, snacks, and soft drinks. This would easily serve to
compromise their ability to achieve optimum health, as they are still in their formative stages, and therefore aspartame can cause irrevocable damage. It is even more so when considering that
careless or ignorant parents bring their infants to fast-food restaurants with the best intentions, exposing them to alls sorts of chemicals, including
aspartame.
Serious recommendation is to avoid this addictive drug-like substance at any cost, and replace it with a real healthy alternative like natural products containing the
healthy forms of sugar, such as cacao based chocolate, fruits, 100% juices, etc.
Furthermore, it will benefit every human being to reconsider his opinion on
sugar consumption in general. We need some level of sugar for our cell and muscle energy. Then, it is preferable to ingest sugar in natural
products. Rather than look for what seems to be an alternative, people should consider that simply consuming less sugar is an healthier attitude.
